Therapy for chronic illness:
Build resilience and coping mechanisms for management with a medical condition or chronic/acute illness
Pain management
Develop strategies to navigate the emotional challenges associated with chronic illness, such as frustration, anger, and grief
Engagement in self-care practices
Mind-body movement interventions to regulate the nervous system
Sibling and family coping and adjustment
School/work reintegration following medical treatment, recent diagnosis and/or symptom management
Sleep difficulties
Medical trauma
Brief assessment and psychotherapy to address issues such as:
Anxiety, depression and stress management
Adjustment to life stressors
Social skills training
Adjustment with life and young adult transitions
Pill swallowing and preparation for medical and dental procedures
Intensive services:
Dr. Ward provides support through 45-, 60- and 75-minute therapy sessions, three-hour therapy sessions, and three-day therapy intensives (3 hours per day).
